Underwater Navigator
Course Overview
When you're underwater, knowing where you are, where you're going and how to get back to where you started means that you can find what you went in to see and relax in the knowledge that you can return to your exit point when you're ready. The PADI Underwater Navigator Speciality course will help you to become a pro at finding your way underwater!
What do I need to start?
You will be a certified Open Water Diver or Junior Open Water Diver (or have a qualifying certification from another organisation). Minimum age is 10 years old. Check out the PADI Medical Form to make sure you don't need to have a medical before you start the course.
What will I do?
During your PADI Underwater Speciality course you'll learn underwater navigation techniques, planning, organisation and potential problems. You'll be introduced to natural navigation, underwater patterns, distance estimation and further your compass navigation skills. You'll put these into practice during your three open water dives. Your Navigation Adventure Dive may count towards your Specialty Course at the Instructors discretion.
How long will it take?
Usually we conduct this course over 1.5 days. Day one you'll go over your knowledge reviews in the classroom for half a day and then day two you'll do three navigation dives.
What is included in the course price?
Your Underwater Navigator manual and standard scuba equipment. You'll be expected to have your own compass. This can be purchased from us at our special Underwater Navigator rate if you wish!
When can I start?
Your course starts as soon as you receive your Underwater Navigator manual! Check out our Course Diary for the next course date or call us!
Where can I go from here?
This Speciality Course counts as one of the five speciality certifications required for Master Scuba Diver Certification.
