MedicalYou don't have to be an athlete to take up scuba diving but you do have to be reasonably fit and healthy. The medical form is designed to find out if you have any areas of your health that should be checked out by a doctor. The form is there to ensure your safety and enjoyment so it is important to be honest when answering the questions on the form. If you have a 'yes' answer to any of the questions it isn't the end of the world! It just means that you'll have to see a doctor to check if you can be signed off as medically fit to dive. If your own GP isn't able to sign the form for you he should be able to recommend someone to you who specialises in diving medicals. Here in Falmouth we have a very friendly doctor who will do the medical for you at a very reasonable rate. If you would like his number, give us a call. You can view the medical statement here and you can download it or print it if you wish. If you can answer 'no' to all of the questions you need do nothing more. You will complete the statement on course commencement. |
