Rescue Diver
Course Overview
This is a rewarding and fun course! Although this course is serious, it is an enjoyable way to build your confidence. It will also expand your knowledge and experience level. Above all, Rescue Divers learn to look beyond themselves and consider the safety and well being of others.
What do I need to start?
You need to be a PADI Advanced Open Water Diver or Junior Advanced Open Water Diver (or have a qualifying certification from another organisation). Check out the PADI Medical Form to make sure you don't need to have a medical before you start your course. Minimum age is 15 years old (12 years for PADI Junior Rescue). You must have completed a sanctioned CPR programme within the past 24 months. The PADI Emergency First Response course meets these requirements and can be conducted before you start the Rescue Course.
What will I do?
You will receive your Rescue Diver Crewpak and complete the appropriate knowledge reviews. The training will prepare you to prevent problems and, if necessary, manage dive emergencies. During your training you'll cover:
. Self rescue and diver stress
. Dive First Aid
. Emergency management and equipment
. Swimming and non-swimming assists
. Panicked diver response
. Underwater problems
. Missing diver procedures
. Surfacing the unconcious diver
. In water artificial respiration
. Egress (exits)
. First Aid Procedures for pressure related accidents
. Dive accident scenarios
How long will it take?
All PADI Courses are performance based. This means that you proceed as you demonstrate mastery of the course skills. This allows you to work at a pace that is comfortable for you. In general, however, the Rescue course can be completed in three days.
What is included in the course price?
Absolutely everything is included. There are no hidden costs! You will receive your CrewPak with manual, the use of all kit for the course, and your certification once completed.
When can I start?
The course starts as soon as you receive your Adventures in Diving CrewPak! Check out our Course Diary for the next course date or call us!
Where can I go from here?
The PADI Rescue Course is a prerequisite for all professional level PADI Courses. Why not enroll in Divemaster training?
