Advanced Open Water
Course Overview
Want to be more confident in and around the water, continue to develop your skills, learn additional skills specific to your interests, better understand the aquatic world and/or dive where only divers with advanced training can? Then the PADI Adventures in Diving Programme is the one for you! The programme offers both the Adventure Diver and Advanced Open Water Diver certifications. If you complete any three adventure dives, you can earn your PADI Adventure Diver certification. If you complete your Deep Adventure Dive, Underwater Navigation Adventure Dive and three other Adventure Dives to make a total of five, you can earn your Advanced Open Water Diver certification that qualifies you to dive to 30metres.
What do I need to start?
You need to be a PADI Open Water Diver (or have a qualifying certification from another organisation). Check out the PADI Medical Form to make sure you don't need to have a medical before you start your course. You must be older than 15 years to begin the PADI Advanced Open Water Course (12 for the Junior Advanced Open Water Diver).
What will I do?
You will receive your Adventures in Diving Crewpak and complete the appropriate knowledge reviews. You will complete any three of the adventure dives below to become an Adventure Diver. To become an Advanced Open Water Diver you must complete a Deep and Navigation dive plus three others from the following list:
Boat Diver
Peak Performance Buoyancy
Underwater Naturalist
Underwater Photography
Diver Propulsion Vehicle
Deep Dive
Drift Dive
Night Dive
Underwater Navigation
Wreck Dive
How long will it take?
All PADI Courses are performance based. This means that you proceed as you demonstrate mastery of the course skills. This allows you to work at a pace that is comfortable for you. In general, however, the Advanced course can be completed in two days.
What is included in the course price?
Absolutely everything is included. There are no hidden costs! You will receive your CrewPak with manual, the use of all kit for the course, and your certification once completed. If you require additional sessions over and above the two day course, however, these would be charged for.
When can I start?
The course starts as soon as you receive your Adventures in Diving CrewPak or when you sign up for the PADI Elearning Online Course! Check out our Course Diary for the next course date or call us!
Where can I go from here?
Why not continue your adventure with PADI Rescue Diver or the PADI Specialty Programme, your next step in exploring the underwater world!
